“ The Morkie Story is a true story about the rescue of 5 morkie puppies who were saved from a hoarding case in North Alabama.”

Bold Agency is excited to have partnered up with the Greater Huntsville Humane Society (GHHS) on a recent project unveiled at the Dog Ball this past weekend. This project was a first under the agency’s new Bold Impact Initiative. Every year Bold Agency will partner with a local non-profit organization on a creative campaign that aids in the organization’s fundraising or brand awareness.

This campaign came to fruition after hearing of a particular situation that the Humane Society was called in for. The Morkie Story is a true story about the rescue of 5 morkie puppies who were saved from a hoarding case in North Alabama. “When we met with the GHHS team, they recalled several heartbreaking situations they’d handled over the years,” says Bold CEO, Lauren Gowins, “but when we heard about this story, we knew that this was the one we needed to feature.” The book was unveiled at the Dog Ball which is an annual event that supports the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. The book was shared during the presentation, as well as hard copies being sold during the event. “The story brings to life the dangers of hoarding situations,” says Gowins, “we hope that this book is as charming as it is educational to the work the Humane Society does and the seriousness of hoarding situations in our region.”

The book was written and illustrated by the Bold team in collaboration with GHHS. Chryselle Lombardi, Bold’s graphic designer and illustrator for the book, shared why the project was so important to her. “In the span of one month, I had to say goodbye to not one but two beloved pets. This project was a perfect way to honor the time I got to have with them. It provided comfort to know that this book could help Greater Huntsville Humane Society bless loving homes with furry friends that need a family.”

All of the proceeds from the book will go towards the Greater Huntsville Humane Society and their continued mission to rescue, training, adoption, education, and advocacy to ensure the humane treatment and welfare of all animals. Spencer Batcheller, Interim CEO of the Humane Society, notes “ I can’t thank the Bold Agency enough for truly capturing a side of rescue most do not see. This children’s book will live on to educate and spread awareness!”

As one of Huntsville’s no-kill shelters, GHHS relies on the financial support of generous private donors, grants, and local sponsorships.

Rochelle Sexton, the Communications and Relations Strategist for the Humane Society says, “As a children’s book collector and an animal advocate, I have nothing but admiration for what the Bold Agency has accomplished. They turned a truly tragic animal hoarding situation into one beautiful story encompassing the real side of rescue.”
